A Profile of Drummer Caroline Seagull

“I started playing drums when I was 10 years old. They couldn’t stop me!
I drove my parents and my brother and sisters crazy. There was something in me I could not stop doing. Coudn’t stop doing my drums! Other kids would be out swimming or whatever, I’d be playing my drums. “Stop playing those damn drums!”

I got a music degree from M.A.T.C. I studied with Pavel Burda and Terry Smirl.
Then I was on the road for about 10 years. Played all over the country. Out West. Chicago. Lot of shows around town in Milwaukee, used to do a lot of little theatre groups.

I studied hand drums with Lucky Diop of Senegal. He was one of my teachers also. I did a lot of travels all over the United States. I was in Korea. Played for the U.S.O.

I’ve been playing with Jeannie on and off for the past 20 years. That fact ages me! “Old Chick!”
