At Growing Power half-day retreat of board and staff at the Boys and Girls Club yesterday’, the idea of composting co-ops and family composting businesses arrived. As did the notion of Growing Power memberships.

Will Allen and his Growing Power team are becoming mentors and suppliers to organic farm and garden projects all over the country, and, since the Spring of 2006, to Africa, the Caribbean, and soon in Europe too!

Growing Power now has a program to train people for careers in urban agriculture.

Growing Power is also helping families and community groups turn many organic wastes into some of the more fertile soil in the land, with the help of worms, wood chips, brewers yeast, coffee grounds, cardboard, and more.

If you would like to treat your honey or one of your sweet ones to a holiday gift that could be of value to them and the family for many, many years, consider giving the gift of a membership in Growing Power.

Please send an e-mail to Growingpowermembership@milwaukeerenaissance.com is this interests you. We are happy to tailor your membership to your specific interests and needs. Membership costs will be determined according to the goods and services you wish, from market baskets, to training institutes, to workshops on specific topics, to tapes, videos, and an to be created electronic newsletter.

t’s not whether or not you have a green thumb.
It’s a question of the fertility of your soil!
