Here is a place for the great adventure that is Everyday Philanthropist, which has a

…kinship to this very democratic and open system[wiki web sites].

Over the last three years Everyday Philanthropists has given away more than $12,000 to 15 non-profit organizations working in the city of Milwaukee…small change in the grand scheme of things…but impressive when you think that it’s just 10 everyday people thinking about how to put $1 a day to better use (notably this is an entirely scaleable $ amount—higher or lower). For us it’s mostly about our own education…there are more than 1500 501c3s working in the city of Milwaukee alone, and we’re constantly learning about groups we had previously never known even existed.

Now imagine how much could be accomplished if there were as many giving circles in our community as there are book clubs and stock investment circles. Everyday Philanthropists is developing a website…and a toolkit…with an eye to providing an umbrella for this kind of collective (and shared) potlatch. As we build momentum for that task, we ever on the lookout for new partners.
