There are a number of God’s children who are “sub-optimizing” their relationship with the world’s marketplace. Such souls are spending more time on “low value added work” than makes sense. An example of this would be a person who has great communication, organizing, and problem solving skills but imagines the inevitability of life working as an employee for a dull witted, authoritarian, or narcissistic boss.

The “free agent nation” will converge at Timbuktu.

Timbuktu will be a market bazaar for artists, artisans, and knowledge workers. These “creatives” are, if one looks closely, “ethnically ambiguous” even though their skin color may be black or white. They are children of the counter culture of the 1960s or their spiritual descendants.

Free men and free women will help one another figure out creative ways to earn an honest days wage for an honest days work.

They will help one another create social enterprise experiments where people bring resources according to their ability and win rewards, financial and otherwise, according to their contribution.

“Creative work” may be to the new American Revolution what Thomas Paine’s “Independence” was for the first American Revolution.

Recent elections, Iraq, Abu Graib, Enron, the rise of Christian and Islamic fundamentalists wasting the hard-won peace of the Cold War Era
have given birth to the concept of a new American Revolution, albeit a peaceful one, where “creativity” is the critical revolutionary force, not violence.
