Michael Kramer’s bio.

Mike was raised in Sioux City, Iowa and attended Drake University in Des Moines where he graduated with a Mathematics degree in 1998. After graduation, Mike continued to live in Des Moines, working at the Principal Financial Group in the Group Health department.

In 2002, he and his wife moved from Des Moines to Milwaukee. It was after extensive research and a desire for positive change that Milwaukee became their destination. They were attracted to its size, location, great public transportation system and thriving arts scene.

Mike currently works for Northwestern Mutual in their Actuarial department and sits on a handful of civic boards. Inspired by former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist’s urban vision and the opportunities provided by the Young Professionals of Milwaukee, Mike’s passions have become urban planning and public policy.

Mike is now Chair of the Real Estate Committee for the Bay View Neighborhood Association, as well as on the committees for the Miller Lite Ride for the Arts, YPM’s Access MKE team, and the MMAC’s Blueprint for Economic Prosperity - Infrastructure team. Mike and his wife Lori, an interior designer for Interior Systems Incorporated, bought their home in Bay View in September of 2003 and enjoy camping, traveling and battling the dust of home improvement.
