The Milwaukee Renaissance hopes to foster the development, recruitment, and retention of young knowledge workers in Milwaukee. The first project of the Milwaukee Renaissance.com (MR) will pertain to developing a program to empower our citizens in literacy with respect to the printed word, i.e. reading and writing, and literacy with respect to internet technology, e.g. email and web site abilities.

Goal 1

Recruit and Train One Highly Skilled and Motivated “Apprentice Knowledge Worker” from Each High school in Historic Milwaukee.

Goal 2

Recruit and Train One Highly Skilled and Motivated “Apprentice Knowledge Worker” from Each Neighborhood in Historic Milwaukee.

Goal 3

Help the Apprentice Create a Yahoo Group in Each High school

Goal 4

Help the Apprentice Create a Yahoo Group in Each Neighborhood

Goal 5

Help the Apprentice Promote the Yahoo Group in Each High school

Goal 6

Help the Apprentice Promote the Yahoo Group in Each Neighborhood

Create a Web Site for Each High school

Create a Web Site for Each Neighborhood

Help the Apprentice Recruit a Team to Develop a Literacy - Print and Computer - Mentoring Project at the High school

Help the Apprentice Recruit a Team to Develop a Print and Computer Literacy Mentoring Project in the Neighborhood

Goal 11

Maintain an on-line blog of the challenges and discoveries involved in planning and implementing programs to reach the respective goals.
