South St. Louis Primary Childhood Home
This is 6209 Marquette Ave., St. Louis, Mo., where Mary and Joseph Donnelly Godsil raised Jo Ann, Jean, and myself, from about 1951 until I moved to the Pruitt Igoe Neighborhood in Kerry Patch St. Louis, my junior year in college, 1966. My Mother and Father returned to God from “Marquette House,” in 1977 and 1982 respectively. If you look closely you will see Megan, Joseph, and Bridie posing in front of my ancestral home in South St. Louis, during a visit we made there somewhere around 2001.

Newberry House on Milwaukee’s East Side
Here is the house that gave the illusion of Godsil as the “rich roofer” to casual observers. It is a beautiful house on a marvelous Milwaukee boulevard, but far too dark inside and expensive to live in relative to my income since “getting off the roofs.” Mary Maroney, I, and my children Megan, Joseph, and Bridie lived here from 1998 until 2002.
