Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force –September 10, 2019 meeting

Please join us for the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force meeting, Tuesday, September 10th, from 3 – 5:00 PM at IndependenceFirst, 540 S. 1st St. We value your engagement and hope to see you Tuesday!

Our September 10th agenda includes the following:

  • Mass Violence: Where Do We Go From Here?

Pardeep Singh Kaleka, LPC-IT, Director, Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee: Darryl Morin, President, Forward Latino.
We will also share a list of resources that may be helpful in addressing the stress and trauma that occur in the aftermath.

  • The Next Step Clinic, to be located at the Next Door Foundation, will be a new resource to address the mental health and developmental needs of Milwaukee’s underserved children and families.

Leah Jepson, Project Director, Milwaukee Coalition for Children’s Mental Health (CCMH)- Mental Health America of Wisconsin and Amy Van Hecke, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychology – Marquette University

  • Milwaukee County’s Psychiatric Crisis system: What’s Ahead with Redesign and Who’s at the Table?

Mike Lappen, Administrator Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division will provide an update and address questions we will share with him.

  • Policy Updates

Milwaukee County Budget update, Barbara Beckert, Disability Rights Wisconsin
Mental Health Board update, Mark Neubauer, MHTF Co-chair and Mental Health Board member
Election 2020: Voter Registration Campaign
