As a MICAH partner, I’d like to personally ask you to join me on Thursday to hear from Milwaukee’s low-wage workers who are organizing for better wages and benefits and dignity on the job. Some of the workers to Janitors to Fast-Food and Retail Workers, folks are standing up to demand fair pay for hard work. We need organization and community leaders to hear their stories and support their efforts.

This presentation will reveal the political and cooperate partners as well as the voter suppression and union busting legislation being introduced throughout the nation. Privatization of our education system, prison systems and the disenfranchisement of the middle class are highlighted. Since 2011, politicians backed by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), which has hit the headlines for previous campaigns on voting rights and gun laws, have introduced 67 different laws in 25 different states on the issues. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
