John Worm at Kovac’s Inauguration
John Worm, unsung hero of the Milwaukee Renaissance, introduced me to Nik Kovac a couple of years ago at Einstein’s on Downer, across the street from the popcorn wagon where now stands the Parking Lot Behemoth. Nik had gone to Riverside High and been good friends with John’s son Andrew. I was very impressed with Nik’s fine mind and graceful energy. He was very much like a number of sons and daughters of the greater eastside from the highway to the Lake I have met since about 1970: very, very bright and open to life as an adventure in the way. I let him know I hoped to contribute toward his spending as much time as appropriate in our fair city.
