We’re In The Same Boat

by Susie & Harvey

We’re in the same boat, Sisters
we’re in the same boat, Brothers
and if we shake one end,
we’re going to rock the other
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.

It’s taking lots and lots of time
for the crew of this boat to learn
that if it’s bad for the bow,
it’s also bad for the stern
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.

We’ve been through terrible storms,
we’ve drowned in grief…
we’ve struck big icebergs,
and many a reef…
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.

 There’s only one ocean, Sisters…

there’s only one sky, Brothers—
and if we mess them up,
we don’t have another…
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.

So, it’s time to settle down,
and enjoy this cruise…
our Home-Sweet-Planet
sure deserves good news…
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.

Yes, we’re in the same boat, Sisters…
we’re in the same boat, Brothers—
and if we shake one end,
we’re going to rock the other…
we’re in the same boat,
Sisters and Brothers.
