Black Men in Prison Town Hall: Solutions

Six months ago, WUWM and MPTV embarked on a collaboration to examine Wisconsin’s high black male incarceration rate, which is highest in the nation.

Our Black Men in Prison series investigated the reasons behind the numbers, and their impact on the community. This town hall event marks the end of the series and the start of a public conversation focused on possible solutions.

6 - 8 p.m. - Town Hall Forum

Joanne Williams, host of MPTV’s Black Nouveau, and Mitch Teich, executive producer of WUWM’s Lake Effect, will moderate a conversation between a panel of experts and you, the audience.

8 - 9 p.m. - Resource Tables / Continue the Conversation

  • Talk with staff from local agencies and discover volunteer opportunities.
  • Participate in WUWM’s “I am more than my record, I am…” web project.
  • Sign up for a library card.
