Artist and activist Patricia Obletz’ first “Creative Forces” panel will be produced and sponsored by the Milwaukee Access Telecommunications Authority (MATA) for Community Access TV, Ch. 14/96.

Members of the panel are:

Willie Brisco, Deputy Supervisor, Milwaukee House of Correction
John Hartman, Musician and Music Therapist, Milwaukee Center for Independence
George Paz Martin, national peace leader, Peace Action Wisconsin
Brenda Wesley, founder, Access, Support and Knowledge Program, Greater Milwaukee National Alliance on Mental Illness
Patricia Obletz, moderator and artist; writer/editor, Washington Park Beat bi-monthly newspaper; MilwaukeeRenaissance.com/PatriciaObletz/HomePage

“There is no reason to feel shame or fear about having a mental illness, or caring about someone who has one of these human conditions,” says Obletz. “It’s in every family. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about one in four people experience a mental illness in his or her lifetime. With an 85 percent recovery rate, mental illnesses are overcome more frequently than cancer.”
