Counties & Medicaid

Efforts are still underway to get counties to speak out on Medicaid/BadgerCare. Outagamie County is introducing the resolution in committee on Aug 27th. Kenosha, Vilas, Portage, Sheboygan, & Lafayette compiling theirs now. 10 additional counties are about to speak out to join the first 20 who sent a letter to the Walker Administration. Expected to be released next week.

Insurance Rate Releasing - Not Yet

Walker is still sitting on the health insurance rates. We are still collecting petitions calling on them to release them.

Getting County Ready for Health Reform

This is a very important issue, making sure that in 42 days our community is ready to start enrolling. Who the new navigators are has been released. But we should also look into contacting our county health departments, our local libraries, and our local elected officials to make sure they know whats coming and how they can help. More on the call Tuesday

Many of you listen to Citizen Action’s weekly podcast - “Battleground Wisconsin”, updated every Friday. But this week’s will be special. This upcoming weeks podcast will feature myself and Robert Kraig and be dedicated solely to answering questions about the Affordable Care Act! So send me your questions, any attacks you’ve heard, any lingering fears or unknowns and we will answer them!
