Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force – June 12th meeting

Please join us for the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force June meeting, Tuesday, June 12, from 3 – 5:00 PM at IndependenceFirst, 540 S. 1st St. All are welcome to attend and share their perspective.

Our agenda will include:

  1. Guest Speaker Pardeep Kaleka will join us to discuss “Connectedness: Becoming Culturally Agile” as part of our “Something to Thank About” series
  2. Medical and Mental Health Care at the Milwaukee County Jail – current status and looking forward. Update from Pete Koneazny, Legal Aid Society Litigation Director
  3. Featured Resource: Mental Health America of Wisconsin Wellness Clinic, Martina Gollin-Graves, MHA President/ CEO
  4. Mental Health Board update including contracting for inpatient care and priorities for 2019 budget. Will include an advocacy activity
  5. Elections 2018 – planning for National Disability Voter Registration Week, July 16–20
  6. Task Force business:
    • Steering Committee recommendation to appoint Tim McGuire, Whole Health Clinical Group, to the open Provider position
    • 2018 – 2019 MHTF membership drive
    • August 14th Mental Health Task Force meeting – “Briefing on Proposed 2019 Milwaukee County Department Budget requests as Submitted to the County Executive”
    • September 11 Mental Health Task Force meeting – 5th Annual Karen Avery Award and Forum.
