Kevin Kane: Join Me At Tomorrows Debate on Badger Care At MU

I hope you can join me tomorrow afternoon at Marquette University as I debate the question of BadgerCare and referendums in the Nursing School against Professor John McAdams, and it will be moderated by Bruce Murphy, editor of Urban Milwaukee!

I recently dueled Dr McAdams (in quotes) in the Racine Journal Times on the question of referendums, now I’ll get to debate him in person. I called the upcoming referendums on BadgerCare in the Journal Times article an “important way for people to talk about these issues”, he declared it was “a fruitless tactic”.

I hope you agree with me that the question of whether Wisconsin should accept federal funds for BadgerCare should be put to the people, and I could use your support tomorrow at this debate. In the upcoming November 4 elections, 20 Wisconsin municipalities will have an advisory referendum on the ballot asking voters whether the state should accept the federal money for BadgerCare. And Marquette’s latest Law Poll found that 61% of voters supported accepting the federal funds. This issue really matters!

This event is free and being hosted by members of Marquette’s Biomedical Science Department, Political Science Department, and the Nursing School. I hope you can join us!

This event is scheduled for Tues, Oct. 14 from 2:30–3:45 pm in at Marquette University’s Emory Hall room111.

Be sure to RSVP to this event here so I know to look for you! See you tomorrow!
