Medicaid Managed Care Forum Info and Wisconsin DHS Family Care/IRIS Town Hall meetings

Make It Work Milwaukee/ Mental Health Task Force Update

Many of us attended yesterday’s Medicaid Managed Care forum hosted by the National Council on Disability at the Capitol which included discussion of how Wisconsin will move forward with major redesign of Family Care and IRIS, and some of the experiences with integrated managed care in other states. WisconsinEye taped the forum and it is available online at http://www.wiseye.org/Home.aspx

I have also attached a briefing paper which forum participants received – it provides a high level overview of Wisconsin’s current adult long term care system Key Elements of the Omnibus Motion on Medicaid Long-Term Care which passed the Joint Finance Committee

One of the Forum speakers was Brian Shoup, DHS Division of Long Term Care. He announced the date and location for the first DHS Family Care/IRIS Town Hall meeting to hear from stakeholders regarding program changes. The first meeting is set to take place on Sept. 9th in Green Bay. Additional Town Hall meetings will be held in Wausau, Hayward, La Crosse, Madison (2 meetings), Milwaukee and one meeting with the tribes. Dates for these meetings have not yet been set. Stay tuned for more details.
