Out Of Therapy

In therapy rooms
a wonder lives.

A key really.
The Key to

It
All.

For
inside these rooms
all across all lands

everything
breaks
down.

Breaks down to the basis of
who we are.

Who we are
as
a
people.

Kneeling … sitting
stretching out
twisted limbs
coaxing out
scattered speech

everyone is everyone’s

child
mother
father

and for that hour
everything
works.

Once
(at a god’s party)
I tricked one drunk god into telling me

the secret.

“take everything inside that hour and

keep it.

keep it after the hour ends.
as you walk out the front door.
as you’re driving home
among stalled traffic. (and your car … stalls)
as the check out market line stalls.
as you stall
your anger
coming home an hour late.

Keep it throughout the day
and the long
long night.

Wake in it

and then …

Do it all again.”
