Seeking Safety group!

MHA will begin a 6-week session of the Seeking Safety curriculum. Classes will run on Wednesdays from 1–2pm from May 11th through June 15th. Interested individuals can register by calling the number listed on the flyer. Please pass along the word to community organizations.

Seeking Safety is an evidence-based, present-focused counseling model to help people attain safety from trauma and/or substance abuse. It directly addresses both trauma and addiction, without requiring clients to delve into the trauma narrative (the detailed account of disturbing trauma memories). They will work to build healthy coping skills while gaining social recovery support.

*This is not a process group. The goal is not to discuss your trauma experiences in depth, but instead to build new skills to help you cope with trauma and feel safer in your day to day life.
