The training will focus on the new Postsecondary Transition Plan (PTP) system put in place by Department of Public Instruction. School Districts are required to use this tool to develop the transition plan for youth. Parents and youth will gain a more in depth knowledge of this process to be an active participant in this transition planning.

Another focus of the training will be on how to access employment services with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and in and outs of the process to get these services. Participants will learn how to include employment services in their Family Care and IRIS programs. Students, families and professionals will gain the knowledge required to prepare for future employment.
