Workers mobilizing to defeat Scott Walker

VOTER ID UPDATE: On Thursday, Oct. 9, the U.S. Supreme Court blocked Scott Walker’s photo ID law from going into effect. The decision means that voters WILL NOT have to show photo ID when voting.

From Janesville to Superior, Menasha to Milwaukee, workers are hitting the streets and manning the phones to defeat Scott Walker and elect Mary Burke as the next governor of Wisconsin. By going door-to-door, calling fellow workers and handing out leaflets at the worksite, workers are having one-on-one conversations to cut through the political spin to talk about jobs and the economy.

Lynette, a probation and parole officer with AFSCME, braved the cold to go door-to-door in Racine last Saturday to remind people that the midterm elections are approaching. “I’m just doing my part to make people aware that if they don’t get involved and vote out Walker then the standard of living will continue to decline for everyone – from our youngest citizens to the old and especially for lower and middle class working families.”

Join our efforts! Canvass and phone bank volunteer locations are rocking around the state. We can provide a short training and all the materials you need to go door-to-door and make phone calls.

This election is neck-and-neck. We have to get active and stay active to educate and motivate voters to the polls. Four more years of Scott Walker would mean continued attacks on worker rights, tax cuts for the wealthy, the dismantling of public schools and the slashing of public services. Wisconsin is ready for an economy that works for all, not just the wealthy. Wisconsin is ready for Mary Burke!

We can’t take four more years of Scott Walker. Join us on the doors and phones ASAP!

In Solidarity,
Phil Neuenfeldt, President
Stephanie Bloomingdale, Secretary-Treasurer

P.S. You can even make calls from the comfort of your couch using our Friends and Neighbors calling tool.
