From Chris Chiu of People’s Books:

About the history of human exodus from Africa 70,000–50,000 years ago, the March 2006 issue of National Geographic has a concise account. Jared Diamond’s Guns, Germs, and Steel also has a section on that. But the most detailed and current account based on DNA is in Nicholas Wade’s Before the Dawn: Recovering the Lost History of Our Ancestors. There are still uncertainties about the original population of homo sapiens in Africa 200,000 years ago, the number of people who departed 70,000–50,000 years ago (150 is given by Nicholas Wade), and the times humans arrived in different parts of the world, even though the chronology is not much in dispute: from Africa to the Middle East 70,000–50,000 years ago, Australia 50,000 years ago, northern Asia 40,000 years ago, Europa 40,000–30,000 years ago, and the New World 20,000–15,000 years ago.
